This beautiful, Traditional Electro/acoustic Series ‘Ashton’ cigar box guitar has been handmade by Adam Harrison in Hazelbrook, NSW. We have used a genuine, cedar ‘Ashton’ cigar box and matched it to a neck made from a 100 year old oak desk top. The fretboard is hard meranti reclaimed from the renovation of a 1940s Leura home. As with materials that are old or reclaimed, there are bumps and knocks as well as old nail holes present. None of which affect the playability or comfort of the instrument. Instead, they provide the guitar an air of vintage cool that translates to the acoustic tones when played either acoustically or through an amp or PA.
An electro/acoustic pickup amplifies the inherent acoustic qualities of the instrument, making it perfect for acoustic songs or old time blues numbers.
